You must be able to laugh at yourself from time to time. Laughter relieves stress and calms us down. Business is a high stakes environment for most of us. You need to blow off steam and humor is how wise biz folks cope with long tiresome days.

The thing is...your customers and clients need a good laugh once in a while too. If you are the one providing the laughs; I have found they will reward you with more orders. Part of this is because the selling process is awkward for buyer and seller. Light humor breaks the ice.

Now-a-days as commerce is being done more and more online, digitally, the crafts of the master sales pro are being skipped over. This is because we do not sell face to face often anymore. The challenge for online entrepreneurs is to bring some of that old time selling charm into the situation even though you are not standing in front of the potential buyer. Heck you probably do not even talk on the phone to your customers anymore.

But that does not mean customers and clients do not buy more from sales pros whom they like. Remember, we all like being around funny people. I know the online buying and shopping experience is static and impersonal but if you can add some laughs to your shoppers day they are more likely to buy and probably will buy more than usual.

Laughs are good times, which are memorable times. This equates to more customers remembering that they enjoyed being on your website and therefore they are likely to return. Clients are also probably more likely to recommend your site to a friend simply because they know the friend will get a laugh while there.

Think about how effectively Ralph Waldo Emerson, famed poet, author, essayist, gets straight to the point while describing a person of questionable character. "The louder he talked of his honor, the faster we counted our spoons."

The goal is to think up ways to brighten your website visitors' day. Do not fret; you'll get around to sales pitching to them too and when you do, they will be more receptive and less dismissing.
